It feels like Spring here, too.
The sun is shining, the sky is blue.
DH wants to run up the road to take me
birthday shopping!!
Our dw is a Whirlpool,too.
When we had -30 and all the pipes froze in
the basement, my lr rug was all wet, too.
(I'm on the second floor)
The plumbers who came to fix the pipes
looked at my dw and said the pump went out
and I'd have to get a new dw.
I can't afford one right now, and DH
hasn't started hauling fish yet,
so I bought a draining rack and a dishpan
and started washing by hand.
Well, about three weeks later, DH was home and
we looked at the dw and it looked ok to us,
so we tried it and it doesn't leak!!
So it must have been the pipes that were
frozen and not the dw!!
Yippee!!And the plumbers were trying to say my
old machine was burned out!!
It's only nine years old!!

Ha

You are lucky...the new dishwasher that the builder selected for my kitchen was a piece of crap, and was toast in

LOL, it is handy, trust me! some of my pots are too big for the dishwasher. I didn't trust dishwashers at first either, until

In Finland we take care of the wire dish-drainer thingy a bit differently.

Check out this picture of how our dishes dry.

LOL I'm not going to chase you to get rid of that drainer! I've been doing Flylady for quite a while and there are still some items I keep "just in case" and I still have a dish drainer, even though the DW is in daily use - I agree there are still some items i need to wash by hand.

Glad you had such a good afternoon off!!

Good way to save counter space, but what about cupboard space or more important the kitchen window?
