OWIE!!

I was doing some paper work at my desk this morning, and the phone started to ring. As I got up,I felt my foot scrape against the desk and it hurt like heck!! I thought,"Oh well,it must just be a little scrape,YEAH RIGHT!!" I was doing the pain dance while having to talk on the phone and I had to tell the caller that I would call them back!! When I looked down, blood was gushing down my foot and I immediately put direct pressure on my foot to help stop the bleeding!! Well, the bleeding didn't stop so I called my doctor and he had me come in right away,in case he would have put stitches in my foot!! I got to his office, they took me right back to the examining room, and fortunately,it didn't have to have stitches, thank goodness!!

The doctor said for some reason I just got a really nasty scrape, and gently re-cleansed the area again for me since I had already done so,and he gently washed the area with some warm soap and water, patted it dry and put a generous amount of neosporin on my foot, along with a big bandage. The doctor also gave me some antibiotics, just so I wouldn't get a nasty infection in my foot!! He told me the signs of infection, and to call his house, not his answering service,if I noticed any signs of infection whatsoever!! Long story short,is that I have changed the bandages a few times already, and my foot hurts like the dickens, but it looks like it is not infected whatsoever, thank goodness!! Winnie *Sighs*

Awwww,Thanks for the hug Karen,I really need it right now!! *Winnie hugs K-Roni right back and Smiles* I remember Bactine being used on cuts and scrapes when I was a child, and I wasn't sure if that product is still being made or not?? I am glad to hear about the man who invented Band-Aids,because covering your wounds with Band-Aids,really does help speed up the recovery process!!Neosporin is a wonderful thing to keep in stock for MINOR cuts and scrapes,as it helps prevent infection, and it doesn't hurt when you apply it to your wounds!! I hope your knee is feeling much better!! ((((((HUGS)))))) Winnie ;-)

Thank you Heather,I appreciate the hugs so much!! *Winnie hugs Heather right back* The cut was really deep on the top of my foot, and that is why at first, the doctor thought I might have to have some stitches, but I am glad that I didn't need stitches!! *Winnie breathes a sigh of relief* I am doing alot better today,my foot is still sore, but I am SO GLAD it hasn't shown any signs of infection, thank goodness!! I am keeping a close eye on it,and the doctor is having me soak my foot three times a day, patting it dry when I am done soaking it,and then putting a generous amount of Neosporin on it with a big bandage. My doctor called me this morning to check on me,and to see how my foot is doing!!

I have one of those RARE doctors who really care more about their patients and their health, instead of the great big paychecks!! My doctor gave me all the signs and symptoms of what a foot infection looks like, and told me that if I notice any of these symptoms,to call him at his home immediately, and he would personally come into his office to take care of me!! My whole family goes to this doctor and we couldn't be happier!! *SMILE* He is so caring and he takes such good care of us,he isn't one of those doctors who make a brief appearance for one minute and has his hand on the door knob,KWIM?? Thank you for your hugs,I appreciate it so much!! (((((((LOTS AND LOTS OF HUGS TO YOU TOO))))))) Winnie ;-)

"because moms did not think it worked if it did not sting" - how many of us must have heard "if it's hurting it must be working" LOL

Thank you Sheila,I appreciate your well wishes so much!! *Winnie gives Sheila a great big hug* My foot seems to be doing better tonight, and the Neosporin and Antibiotics seem to be doing their job very well!! I am so relieved that I didn't have to have stitches, because the last time I had to have stitches, was when I was a little kid!! When I was little,I feel off of a swing set and gashed the underside of my chin wide open!! The doctors had to hold me down so they could sew up my chin, and I remember that it hurt like the dickens, and I just remember sobbing, while they were sewing up my wound!! I have never had to have had anything lanced before, but it sounds like it hurts like heck,OUCH!! ((((LOTS AND LOTS OF HUGS TO YOU))))))) Winnie *SMILES* and *WINKS*

Of the various family doctors we've had
over the years, my favorite was the one
we met when I cut my foot snorkeling and
needed stitches. We were on a beach in
Hawaii next to a resort, and the lifeguard
said I should walk over to the resort and
see the doctor there. So you never know.
