I was going through one of my new cookbooks and a Shrimp Gumbo recipe had Ladys finger listed as an ingredient.

the vegetable that gives gumbo its
character.

If you come across any other strange names in there Patty just shout! I bought a book called "the Pocket Guide to American Cooking in England" because I sometimes got confused by some of the American cooking terms/names when on the web
