Wish Mom Had Told Me About Rainchecks

One year I tried to buy my Easter ham on
the the day before Easter. The store had
NO nice-looking, affordable hams left.
Later I learned about shopping early, and
especially about rain checks.
If you go to the store looking for a par-
ticular advertised item with a really nice
price and they're out of that item, ask
for a rain check. Then you can get the
same item, at the same price, after the
price goes back up.

FUNNY, you would mention that, Susan, and it's a GREAT TIP...but I once broke down and gave into my tenant Gene on Easter once; I get deathly sick on cured ham, and he wanted a ham so badly.
My main supermarket choice, beginning with a K, had strawberries in the ad this week, 4 one-pound containers for $5.00.
Whew!
I popped into the store today to return some movies and I could not believe
how many folks were in there!!
It's bad enough with all the construction and remodeling going on.
The containers with all the building supplies take up more than half the parking spaces.
Then the coolers, shelves and other store stuff is out there, too, with a big dumpster
right in front(folks are always dumpster diving in there to salvage thrown out building
things.)And now they even put three outhouses in the parking lot, too, because guess what
else is getting redone!!
Yuk! It is no fun to shop in my town right now!!

I am going to bet my sweet bippy that you and I are about the only ones here who know what that means and where it came from!
I remember the show when it was first used.
And Edith Ann in her big rocking chair and her raspberries!
