Yay!!!!!! I knew you wouldn't really need the magic dust!!!!
GCSEs are the exams that 16year olds take here, they choose their options two years before, you have to take Maths, English, Science, PSR (personal, social & religious studies) and he opted to take Spanish, Design & Technology, Business Systems & Art - he has his Spanish oral on Monday and has already done his Art (2 x 5 hour practicals)
School systems are quite different here in Europe (each country is different) than the US! My high school years sucked! LOL
Tell your DS "buena suerte" on his Spanish oral!!
Thanks Heather!! I had to look that up - I thought it was probably good luck, but my Spanish is very basic "dos cervezas, por favor" is about as good as it gets LOL
Yes the school systems are very different! When anyone on the boards mentions which Grade their child is in it takes me a while to work out how old they are! DS can legally finish his education after those exams,
*grin* I had to ask my Spanish speaking friend for comfirmation that is what it meant too.. I always think it means "sweet dreams", but it doesn't. LOL.
Even all the terms for the grade/year of school are so different! And those were in English! LOL. Try putting them in another language or translating them. Heheh.
But definitely good luck for your DS and I hope he earns the grades he wants so he is able to study what he wants!
