Hey everybody! I hope I am posting at the right board ... I am not the greatest cook in the world, but I can cook (when following directions). I try different things atleast once or twice a week to make for my boyfriend ... he says he likes everything I make, which makes me really happy! So, this weekend I want to make him pork chops, but I am having a difficult time finding a good recipe that is fairly easy. I thought of one, and I figured I would run it buy y'all and you let me know what you think ... I was going to get a few pork chops (probably 4-6, because he is a big eater), then in a bowl put 1 egg, garlic powder, and pepper and batter that together. dip the pork chops in the egg mixture then cover them with italian bread crumbs. then put oil in a skilet and fry them in the skilet for about 10-15 minutes. Then place them on top of scalloped potatoes (which I put in the oven before I started the pork chops and have already been baking in the oven for about 15 or 20 minutes) then bake them together for a remaining 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are done.... so what do you think? does it sound good? do you think it could work? I haven't done it yet, and I don't want to screw up this meal so I was hoping for some feed back! I appreciate any help! Thank you!

Hi Twin20,

Welcome to the board! You've definitely found the right board if you like to cook and experiment!

That sounds like a good recipe!

I've never tried cooking meat on top of scalloped potatoes, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. But I wonder if the side of the pork chop that is touching the potatoes won't be crunchy like the top side..

I hope you did make that this weekend! Let us know how it turned out!
