I know I've been a bit absent lately..I'll be back more soon, especially since I'll be at work again. *cheeky grin*

But, this last week, I picked 10.5 kilos (23lb) of strawberries for me and my BF and also helped my friend finish out her 28 kilos of strawberries (for herself, family and friends).

That evening and the next day I made strawberry jam!! My frist time ever. Out of my 12 sealed jars, only 6 sealed properly..the rest are in the freezer.

Here we have sugar with pectin in it called "jam sugar", so there was no need for me to purchase pectin..which I wasn't sure if I could get anyway.

In addition, I did find a product that had some sugar, additives + pectin and I tried that on one batch. Haven't tasted it yet, but I am sure I will like it more because there is less sugar. Atlhough, the sugary stuff is drool-a-licious!!!

Then yesterday I baked the rest of my chocolate-peanut butter chips cookies..but forgot they were in the oven so they over baked. *grumble* Still very edible, just not chewy like they should be.

And I told Miksi to not eat them because he doesn't like them and I DO! He did eat one..then rearranged the cookies in hopes I wouldn't notice. ROFL. I knew he was going to eat one..so of course I looked. Hehehe. It was too funny!

And today I made waffles! With homemade strawberry jam on top. *drool*

I think it is time for me to heat up a left over waffle...

Yup! It was my first experience and I'm pleased with the results.. I'll have to talk to my mom and see if she can help me figure out why some of them didn't seal.

Just under two weeks ago at the start of my vacation, I made rhubarb juice at the BFs parents. That stuff is yummy!!!!

And when black & red currants are ripe, I'll go back and pick them to make more juice for the winter. Tons of Vit C for when you have a cold.. It is great hot or cold!

I might even make Goosberry juice or jam.. Most likely jam though..
