An old college buddy is coming to visit next week, and I picked up a jar of beer jelly for him. He's likes good beer, so I figured the jelly would be right up his alley.
Here's the ingredients list:
beer, fruit juice, sugar, pectin. I brought it home and googled for recipes. I did find some, but the soda pop jelly was more up MY alley, so that's what I posted.
Now I have two more ideas, not yet googled: green tea jelly, and leftover espresso jelly.
At halfbakery.com they suggested a jelly donut filled with coffee jelly. Too bad the coffee jelly recipe they referenced was a coffee flavored gelatine.
HI, Yall! I have been canning cooking pears, My tree was loaded. Everyone wants some. They are pineapple pears. Crisp and sweet, we eat them like apples, but they must be peeled. I have also been freezing some. I don't cook them, just peel and slice and chunk like for apple pie. In a ziplock bag, 4 cups of pears-3/4 cup of sugar-1/4 cup flour-1 t. cinnamon or apple pie spice. zipup and freeze. Time for pie, you just dump it into a readymade pie shell and cover with another. bake for about 45 min. or until you can't stand the wait anymore. They make a lot of juice, one could make jelly with them. Sometimes I add lemon.
I told my grandson and DH you were hunting for coffee jelly recipes, they both said UGH!!! the expresion was so heart felt. About some 50 or so years ago we used to make Kool Aid jelly. When we were desperate and had no experience and no money, it wasn't so bad.....?
Back then Newly Weds did live on shoestrings. Love ya! GeeGee
Hi Love--We have been going through some stuff. Looks like the older you get the more your heart can break. I developed dizzy spells for some reason. Everything checks out. But I am still dizzy. I have to be careful. I drop things. Ect. Any way we lost a beautiful 18 yr. old grandson in a car accident. He and two of his best friends. They were in an suv. that overturned. Didn't have on seatbelts, and were throwne from the car. It landed on top of them. Ian had a broken neck. One friend lived long enough to get to the hospital. the other was crushed. Of all places, they landed at the front door of the Police station in Broussard La. It was a mess.(go to, www.theadverthiser.com)The boy that was driving was drunk.
The whole family has been in the doldrums. Grandson Christian and wife Andria and three beautiful little girls have been staying with us. 4 weeks now. They moved back from Texas and can't find a house or anything. So they just bought some property. Bare. We still have a lot of hurricane evacuees. Rental was already tight around here. This area is growing painfully fast. The Jefferson Island Salt Mines are being consittered as oil storage. That may affect our sunken lake. Lord love a duck.
Last Sat. we gave a family Birthday Party for my Mother who would have turned 100 years old if she had lived. She always talked about how she wanted to live to be 100. She missed it by 6 years. I had promised her a party for her 100th birthday and We gave her ohe. We had 6 cakes, Icecream. Punch, and cookies. Her favorite food! We made colorfull birthday cards and attached them to ballons filled with Helium. and It was starting to storm and blew in a whipping wind and the thunder was magnificent (she loved storms)So then we turned them loose in the wind. After we mailed the cards, everyone felt better and laughed with delight. Maybe we will do it again. We have 3 new great-grands due shortly. 2 girls and a boy. The cat is due any day now. Is SHE loaded.

So far the only recipes I've found for
'coffee jelly' were coffee flavored
gelatine desserts.
At a gourmet shop online I found some
coffee jam. Here are the ingredients:
coffee, cane sugar, lemon juice, fruit
pectin if necessary.
donut filled with coffee jelly. Too bad
the coffee jelly recipe they referenced
was a coffee flavored gelatine.
Finally, I found some green tea jam.
It was in an online gourmet shop and
here's what they had to say:
Fruity and delightful tea jam made
with fresh Niagara blueberries and infused
with our delicious Green Tea Kombucha Lime.
