Hi Kerry!!
I haven't tried freezing squash, but I do freeze zuchinni.
In fact, I just bought several Zuc's the other day, much more than what I needed to make zuchinni bread. *blush* So I shredded the rest and stuffed it in a bag, in the amount of 3 cups (perfect for my zuc bread recipe) and when I need it next, I'll thaw it and its ready to use.

thanks for the tip roni. i will do this today with the fresh squash i bought for my turtles. that's too bad about your hostas. 1 of my big ones isn't looking to hot either- lots of dead leaves. but mine are in 100% full sun and july was a very hot and humid month here. should i remove or cut the dead leaves/stems?

thanks for those turtle links. that tortoise is showing signs of pyramiding (note the bumps on top of its shell).

Cutting away the dead leaves is always good.
