Oh no not the painting on velvet!!! I'm not sure if the dressed ducks and chickens made it over here, but I do remember harvest gold appliances LOL
When we did our living room up a few years ago we went with very neutral colours with some accents of yellows and reds, and when it was finished DH and I looked around and said well it looks great now but wonder how our kids will remember it, would it be in much the same way that DH & I both remember our parents vivid patterened carpets and wallpaper, only time will tell ;-)
Well in some ways I am happy that there is style know as Scandinavian and it has always been what American style isn't.

I spent a long time tearing up shag carpeting in most likely the same lovely orange you had in your mobile home!Who knows what was living in there after 30 years eh?
My one friend had this psychedelic wallpaper in her bathroom and kitchen it was silver with orange and green and the paper in the bathroom was chocolate brown, silver and white.

I went to the carpet store a few weeks ago and they had shag carpet there in all these really disgusting colours!! Purple, pink, green, yellow, blue and white!!
