Help! Need Super Easy Turkey!

I'm going to be making turkey for the first time this year, and I need a fool-proof and fast way to do it. I'm going to probably be using a turkey roaster so that it can sit on the counter while other things are cooking in the oven. Anyway, a friend of mine suggested that I bag the turkey and then I won't have to baste it and it'll cook faster. I'm not doing stuffing and I don't need the turkey to be great....just not terrible. Can anyone break down for someone who has NO IDEA how to make a turkey or perhaps refer me to a good web site?

I like the sound of that rice stuffing...lots of fruit and nuts...going to try using it to stuff some cubanelle peppers..

LOL, Elaine, I ALMOST went into that discussion on this thread, but remembered how involved we all got in it last year for the holidays, and said, "Nah, your arthritis can't type that much!"

I mostly do this for occassions like picnics when the turkey is cold and carved in the kitchen. I love the comments "it's so juicey!"

I recall us having a long, funny discussion once about

NOW you tell me about paper plates that look like china. Sign... if only my parents would accept that it would be so nice. We had around 30 people over for a long lunch a couple of weeks ago. It's a good thing I didn't have to clean up, but I do remember the times I had to clean up, wash the dishes and pans. It only took about 3 hours.
