Thanks for not being offended by my ethnic teasing. I remember you being pretty easy going from when I used to play ivillage a lot earlier in the year.
Seriously, I think in addition to what we grow up learning to like, there is probably a big difference between what your products taste like and ours. Unless you have the imported stuff. If pepsi bottles it there, you are dealing with YOUR own water supply, and their might be different regulations about what they can and cannot put in it which would change the recipe a little. SO we may not be drinking the same drink.
Similar to when McDonalds serves a burger everywhere else in the world. It tastes different, because the cows there probably eat differently, and they drink the water that is available there, etc. So a Big Mac tastes different around the world.
Thanks Roni! I appreciate that you remember me. Truth is, my subscription ran out so it was a pain to surf here for a while, plus as always busy with work, and on top of everything else, my mom has been sick. She is now in a nursing home... :( So I have been away too long. I have been playing a lot here at ivillage today, catching up with old boards.
And Trygg...if you happen to be reading this, I would love to send you a can of MY Diet Dew. Just to see if you like it. Let me know if you are interested. Maybe we can swap. Some of your drinks for some of mine.
I was messing around one day and got to this international Coca Cola website. It was amazing how many drinks they provide around the world, sodas alone, not to mention coffee, tea, etc. They are on top of the beverage market for SURE! There were so many flavors I was dying to try that are not made here in the states...but I won't be hopping any planes to go overseas anytime soon so I guess I will never know.

Struggle will be inevitable, but suffering is optional.
"Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." Gal. 6:2
"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matt. 25:40
A long time, I'm afraid Trygg. I guess I don't consider us close or anything but I remember bumping into you often enough, you like the frugal boards too if I remember right. And you have a lot of
Trygg this is a wonderful idea. If you are a choc lover I can definitely hook you up with some of the best American candy bars. Are there any you request because you had them before, or any that you have heard of and want to try? Or would you prefer non-chocolate? Mints, fruities, chewies, taffies? There is one that I think may be an American exclusive. Tootsie Rolls (basically chocolate taffy) and also salt water taffy from the New Jersey shore.
As far as your picks for me to try, anything is great that is chocolate. But for fruities, I don't like watermelon, apple, blueberry, banana...American versions at least taste wayyyy wayyy too fake and gross to me. Watermelon candies and bubble gum by SMELL alone make me heave and I could easily throw up.
Another popular import here is Lintz truffles. And Ghirardelli, I don't know if that is American or not.
One huge trend here in the States is deep frying EVERYTHING. Mostly at festivals, carnivals, and in little tourist places etc. As if these things aren't already bad enough for us. Deep fried candy bars, snack cakes (Twinkies, Lil Debbies sound familiar?), cookies, mostly. They have a batter on them that is similar to funnel cake batter (I don't know if you know what this is). Imagine a candy bar basically wrapped in a deep fried pancake. They barely melt but they have this sweet coating...and THEN topped with whipped cream. And this is in amusement parks where you go on rides and round and round and upside down....the smell of diesel fuel everywhere, combined with NOISE and smells of cooking grease, sweat, and livestock. No wonder I get carnival hangovers! I tell you if the carnival wasn't so much fun, I would think that was a horrible smell.

The Diet Mountain dew I had was specially imported from the USA, so it wasn't made here , it was made in your part of the world.
With the new rules about what you can send
