Hi, I'm new

And I already have a question ;). I am in the process of buying a new set of pots and pans. I am so tempted to save a little longer and go ahead and get the Calphalon One but at the same time I am wondering what people are really satisfied with. My question, I guess, is: What is your favorite line of pots and pans to use? Do you think it would be wise to hold out a little longer for the Calphalon One?

Hi Melissa!
Wow I have to say this is one of the nicest boards I've visited on Ivillage!

Hey Peri, just wanted to welcome you too! I'm Nicki, k-roni's DD!
I have the kitchen essentials by calphalon cookware (from Target--got it all as wedding gifts) and I am mostly happy with it. I think it's not as good as real calphalon...the "everyday pan" I have (that I cook in, oh, almost every day!) is worn out--the non stick doesn't work anymore and everything sticks to it now. I have trouble enforcing the "no metal utensils" rule with DH, so that is probably the culprit. I have been known to break the rule from time to time, but I do mostly stick with my wooden and nylon spoons.
I have a 6 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, and I love making baby food! Just wanted to share that little bit with you! For Christmas I bought myself a new blender (my old one was just not working well) and it has a food processor attachment and I am very happy about all the baby food possibilities. My baby is not eating much food yet, but I am about to start cooking a few staples and freezing them in little ice cube sizes for convenience.
Nice to "meet" you!

Thanks, Nicki!
