My daughter, Rocki and I are planning a first birthday party (all adults basically) for my granddaughter, Deana, in March... aside from the pink cake with the pink icing and the pink ice cream, the menu is pink punch, pink cloud fruit salad, pink rice pudding, pink dip/chips, pink kisses, pink candy and lasagna ( if I put cream in the sauce it will unredden it enough to look pink)...does any one else have any creative ideas???? Thanks...Diane

Shrimp are pink, you could add a little cream cheese to the cocktail sauce to tint that pink also.

Those are some really good ideas.... I like the chicken idea, that may work for the picky eaters that are coming... Rocki's husbands family have the oddest eating habits...some are so off the wall that I would be embarrassed to mention them.... As for Pink the singer...my cousins son went to high school with her... Personally I am not familiar with her work....Thanks for the ideas Patty.......

haha....those men will just have to suck it up... it is all about Deana that day and not them..my husband doesnt care what color the food is, as long as it tastes good... I have really gotten some good ideas but I have a lot of guests that do not like seafood unfortunately.... seafood would have been a really fun menu to work with...

Sugar cookies with red food coloring turn a really nice pink! Or rice crispie treats with red coloring.. quick, easy and YUMMY!

What about stuff with strawberries?

Your comment about your husband not caring what color the food is reminds me that my mom and stepmom do! LOL. My dad would make pancakes with us kids on the weekend and add green, blue or red food coloring to the batter and us kids loved it! My moms on the other hand were grossed out. heheh To this day, I love doing that!

thanks for the pink ideas... your story reminds me of a story.. when Rocki was 6 she wanted a blue cake for her birthday...I told her that kids wont eat blue icing on the cake.... she insisted...good thing I had a back up cake... the blue icing and cake was to die for yummmy but the color didnt fly with the kids...I reckon I have a color preference for some foods too...I dont think I want green mashed potatoes on St. Patty's day... Did you ever see the "Two Fat Ladies" on the Food Network years ago? They were from the UK and so comical...they cooked everything in butter and cream...one time they were cooking in a monastery and they made for dessert these "Strawberry Breasts" kinda cute they were! I don't have the recipe but I think they just used great gobs of fresh whipped cream, a bit of liqueur with some pureed strawberries, placed two mounds on a plate and topped them with a piece of berry to look like breasts!LOL!

Now the men would have a good giggle over those :)
