Does your number differ from your SO's?

It does most of the time:) I want 4 kids-ideally 2 boys and 2 girls, but I'd be happy regardless of their genders. DH keeps changing his mind. When we were dating, he said 2 (and that he'd compromise at 3). When Evan was a baby (a very high maintenance baby!), he said he'd be happy with 1. Then he went back to wanting 2, once Evan got older and less volatile. He's pretty much settled on 3, but still says every once in a while that we could go to 4 and that it's up to me...

I have to admit that though I love being pregnant, I am looking forward to being done, just so I can get my body back. After #3, we might be done, if it feels like our family is complete. My body insists on gaining a lot of weight during pregnancy and then keeping almost all of it while BFing, regardless of how much I diet and exercise. I got pregnant with Anna while still BFing Evan, so I haven't been able to go back to my prepregnancy weight in a long time. I can't wait until I can get these extra pounds off-and hate the idea of spending all of my thirties at a weight I hate!

I hear you! I want 4-5 kids but am not looking forward to all the weight fluctuations! DH only wants two. We decided we'll start by having two and then see how that feels.

Yeah, I want kids, he doesn't (lol), but we've had the baby conversation and he said he doesn't want to be selfish, but if we decide to have kids we need to start planning soon. Im 30 and he's a year younger. I'm scared to bring up the topic because he's really that enthused about it and I feel like I'm putting pressure on him. Anyway, I'd be satisfied with one healthy child. He loves kids, so that's a plus. I hope by the time we start TTC that he'll feel better towards the whole thing.

I'd like four - DH insists we stop at three. He'll likely win. He's going to be 45 this year. He's already going to be working for the rest of his life, I should respect some of that, right? Here's the caveat - I REFUSE to have my tubes tied.

I really picture two. We both come from families of two kids, so that seems like the norm to us. And three seems like a lot to handle!

I also don't want to get my tubes tied and DH and I both don't want me to be on BC for several reasons! But I imagine that at our ages, we might not have many kids anyway.

Becki: DH comes from a family of two so he wants two, and we are 3 so I want more than 2! Three is a lot of to handle...We are all close in age so my mom was quite busy!!

I want two he would be happy with just one but I don't want our son to be an only child.

I think my number has changed more then DH's. When we first started dating I wanted 2 and he is one of 3 so he was more on the 3 side. Well I always told him if we had two boys or two girls then we would shoot for 3 but that was it and I would be done. Now going through pregnancy and everthing I think I definatly want three possibly 4. It just all depends on how life plays out.

True, Cassie! Life can change as well as decisions!

Sandy: I understand about not wanting an only child. That is why DH agree on at least two for now.

I have two and I want two more. My fiance wants two as well. (he doens't have any other than mine)

If I had met him years back we would probably be trying for 3-4 of our own to add to my two. (I'm 33 now so I don't think I have quite enough time for another 3-4, we'll see)
