I love the look of those Jenny - I even IM'd DH when I saw the potato salad as I knew it would be something he would go for!

We don't have salad as a main that often but it is something the whole family is happy to eat - well youngest DS will pick bits out LOL We have found on our travels in Spain, Greece, Cyprus that you will get a big bowl of salad before your main meal, great for the children to pick at and try things they wouldn't normally - one we had last year had fresh anchovies, not the salted ones, which the boys took a tiny taste of, then they were fighting over the remaining ones ;-))

I love salads!

there are many times I've piled my plate full of veggies and only a tiny bit of meat..if at all.

I was just thinking about a couscous salad today..

Take some lettuce (1 or more types of your choice), tomato, cucumber, corn (kernals or baby ears), fresh basil, couscous (of course!), a squirt of lemon juice and a touch of olive oil and mix it all together!

Of the ones you listed, the Grilled Squid, Basil and Frisée Salad sounds yummy!
And potato salad is yummy too!

I LOVE anchovies...I was dating a man in 1993 who was embarrassed at his company dinner when I sent back my Caesar salad (at a very elegant restaurant) because there were no anchovies in it.

I LOVE YOU KAREN!!!

You crack me up!! And I fully understand you!

I try to curb my b'ing and complaining about coffee drinks made correctly.. Finland just doesn't understand fancy coffee drinks. The coffee is perfectly fine, though!

On not such an elegant story as your anchovies.. I took McD french fries back to the counter because they were cold and gross.. My friend was completely shocked and couldn't believe I did it.. Cold McD fries are nasty!! And I love McD fries.. (cheeseburgers and desserts, but not much else.)

I've seen a LOT of people in fast food places take back cold fries!

We'd eat salads more often as a main course, except that my super-picky kids won't eat them.
