Wrap cheese in a cloth dampened with salt water before refrigerating to protect against mold.

Add a pinch to coffee grounds before brewing coffee to enhance flavor

Remove rust stains from clothing by rubbing a paste of equal parts salt and vinegar into the stain, letting stand for 30 minutes, then washing as usual.

Keep ants away by spreading a thin line of salt across any entry they use - they will not cross it.

Here's a salt tip--watch out where you stick an oil well! I liked your salt posts so much I had to share this link. It's a very strange but true story, just ask GeeGee, CL of ABC board, she was there and had friends and family in the disaster!

Let's not forget that salt is "death" to slugs when put around the boarders to your gardens, and house. If you see one, just a good sprinkling onto it's slimy body turns it into an even slimier mess, but a dead one.

I've also heard people putting a bit into beer for some reason too...not sure what it does, as I'm a tea-totler myself.

Two ideas for two cents....see, not worth it was it?
