DH and I went to the store to pick up some spices and we couldn't find any dry mustard. Is there something going on that I missed?

Hmmmm I don't think so - dry mustard should be available... weird! Maybe people use it for Memorial Day bbq's - LOL!

I bought some this week here. Something had better not be going on as I use it a lot.

You may have been looking in the wrong spot. Sometimes it is with the wet mustard, sometimes with the spices. I live on Colman's, the best mustard in the world, and use cheap dry mustard for cooking. I make my wet mustard from Colman's, the recipe is on the little yellow tin it comes in. It's great, makes your hair sweat, an is so simple to whip up! Great on Salmon steaks on the grill, making sauces, on sausages..You just mix a tiny bit of cold water with the Colman's powder and whip it smooth, and let it sit and "bloom." If you can't find Colman's, change grocery stores. here is a great website with hundreds of recipes! No Colman's? downright insensitive!

I will have to agree with all responses Alysia....I can get dry and seed mustard spices at my local Kroger and wal-mart super store locations....I find that Kroger has it with spices...wally world has it with the condoments...mustard area. Interesting question, that's for sure. Should I purchase some and send your way?

Well, DH and I decided that there must have been a "run" on dry mustard because there was absolutely none to be found! We're going to the world market for some, later. I imagine that the holiday weekend saw a whole lot of potato salad and BBQ rubs being made up.

Shall I blame Emeril for this? ROFL!

Try looking in the Health Food Section of the store. A lot of people are not aware of the huge selection of Spices this department will carry.
