corn starch

Hi all

I'm visiting from another board with a cooking question.

I'm making face paint for my son and the recipe calls for "corn starch". We Australians have "corn flour" which is used primarily for thickening sauces - do you think that it is the same thing?

If not, would you mind giving me a description of when you would use corn starch so that I may be able to work out what our equivalent ingredient is?

It's the same thing, used for thickening sauces, making custards and it can even be used instead of talcum powder.
