Question about Le Creuset pots

I'm new to this board and have a burning question...I just got a gift certificate for Williams Sonoma and I'm really aching to get one of the Creuset pots - a Dutch Oven to be specific. But, I'm not sure what size to get.

I'm branching out and making more 'intricate' recipes, and one of them calls for a Dutch Oven (and then the use of a rack after braising).

My two part question:

If you were going to expand your set eventually, what would you start off with (for Creuset Dutch Ovens)

AND

Would you just buy a little rack from Bed Bath and Beyond?

Thanks in advance :)

I just found this board and I can't wait to read some posts :)

(edited to add - I hope this is the right board - if not, please direct me to a more appropriate place to post :) )

You've definitely come to the right place. I don't know anything

but someone will. My sister-in-law loves her set of LeCreuset.

Before I could recommend a pan size I'd have to know what's

cooking and for how many. I use a big dutch oven for making

soups and sauces, maybe an 8 quart. And I like about a 2 quart

for cooking noodles for 3 or bread pudding.

Yyletha Is it spring yet?
