It's about a month away for us.

It will be interesting anyway. dd is starting first grade

so she'll be gone all day. Lunch is her big meal too;

she eats more than her daddy at lunch. I'll have to

get her eating a bigger breakfast. At least they still

do snacks in first grade. Her school supplies list called

for a box of crackers per month, same as kindergarten.

I will post some supposedly healthy cookies that might be

good lunchbox treats. I always substitute whole wheat for

half the flour in gingersnaps and similar cookies. She loves

apples, grapes, bananas.

We still have about 3 weeks but not looking forward to making lunches for ds. He doesn't like school lunches and making his lunch is such an ordeal lol. No sandwiches, it would be so much easier if he ate them!

My kids get a two week longer vacation this year due to construction at the school.

I found this site today when I was looking for something

else. They have some nice tips for making lunches.
