It's time for the local Grits Festival.

To win prizes contestants will roll around in a big vat of cooked grits and then get weighed to see who got the most to stick to them.

A friend just commented:

Oh my gosh! Although this may be a better use for grits than eating them (just saying...)!

So, are you a grits fan? Or do you think they're only good enough to roll around in? :o)

I eat them, and love them. I also like doing what my dad calls fried grits. You put cooked grits a baking pan overnight, the next morning you cut them into squares/rectangles, dip them in egg like you would french toast (but no milk/vanilla/cinnamon) and cook them up in a skillet.

Sounds like a polenta dish I've seen.

DH makes some awesome shrimp and cheese grits. Delicious!
