Ive tried it. It does lack that something that pork bacon has. Like you I have read conflicting theories on it. But Ive tried it, its ok, but its not good ole classic bacon. And its thin.
I like turkey bacon!!!! I buy the low sodium sometimes when its on sale, but definently not as a substitute for real bacon..... I buy that too.... just not as often...
nope and to the best of my knowledge I have never had turkey bacon. I like a good thick sliced bacon. We go through spurts where we cook more bacon and then other times where we dont cook any. I stock up and freeze regular old bacon whenever I find a good deal on it
yes it does. I never ate spinach until about a month ago my mom showed me how to make a wilted spinach salad using bacon and making a dressing with bacon grease, water, apple cider vinegar and wondra instant flour (had never heard of this until i was looking for a recipe for Hoosier style pork tenderloin sandwiches and it makes awesome gravies)
I am from Florida but my parents are from Indiana and my mom said it was something my grandma used to make all the time during the summer and I have made it about 4 times since she showed me last month. I love it. She said it wasnt always with spinach but i cant remember what else she said they put it on

I haven't tried it. We don't eat bacon that often,
so we grab the real thing.
We really like turkey ham and will continue buying it
when it's convenient.
