Whew! Busy weekend and it's my first day back to work. Ugh. But I feel rested so it's ok.

1. I read somewhere that we often mistake hunger for thirst. Do you think it's true? Do you think you drink enough water (or other liquids) each day? The next time you think you are hungry will you try drinking instead?

2. "You should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince

and dinner like a pauper." All weekend I ate bigger breakfasts than I normally do during the week and now I'm hungry. Do you ever eat a big breakfast during the week? You do think the above quote has merit? Are you more or less hungry during the day when you eat a big breakfast?

Oy...I'm hungry, lol.

Okay.... I know I don't drink enough water. And I know that water will fill you up (or at least take up some space). But I don't think I've ever confused hunger with thirst. lol Okay... I'll drink more water.. just in case!

I have heard about eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pauper and I think that it probably should be that way, but I find that when I eat a big breakfast, I want to eat all day long. Also, the next morning, i'm more hungry too... what's with that? Well, maybe it's thirst and not hunger?? ROFL! I think I need some help!

Oh boy! And I just ate lunch, lol.

I think I drink plenty. I drink about 60 ounces of water or juice a day.

I'm usually only inclined to eat a huge breakfast if I didn't have to make it myself. I recently switched from eating my toaster breakfasts to eating cereal in the mornings. Now I'm eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch with plain, but not unsweetened, Silk. Yummy! If you haven't tried it, you really should. I even had a bowl for my second dinner last night. (I came home really hungry, ate a Hot Pocket and two hours later had the cereal.) It's looking like another trip to the grocery store is in order, lol.

Happy Tuesday!

Hi everyone!

1. I know for a fact that I don't drink enough water. If I drank water (instead of Diet Dr. Pepper...) every time I felt hungry, I would float away! I really, really need to work on drinking more water.

2. If I eat a big breakfast, I tend to feel like I've "blown it" for the day and end up eating more than usual. I do better if I strive for eating three balanced meals rather than eating a big breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner. I never skip breakfast, though. The only time we ever eat a big breakfast is if we are cooking breakfast foods for dinner!

lol. Drinking more water is always good (just make sure you are close to a bathroom...lol).

I'm LESS hungry if I eat a big breakfast...then again most of the time when I eat a big breakfast it's more of a brunch. Maybe that's why...

lol - I hope you are close to a bathroom. The thought of all that liquid makes me want to go pee! lol

I've never been a cereal person, ever. Just can't get into it for some reason. Used to eat the toaster breakfasts when I had roommates. But my freezer now officially sucks so no more.

lol. Did you know that you cannot get Diet Dr. Pepper in Canada? There is something in it that doesn't meet our regulations. I find it hard to drink just plain water. I often add a tiny amount of ice tea crystals or a slice of lemon to it to make it bearable.

Three balanced meals a day would be good. Most days breakfast is a thing of yogurt. lol

I drink a fair amount and think I can tell the difference.

Once in a while, I need to diet though. Today I ate one sandwich midday, and that's it.

I get sleepy when I eat a lot at any time.

1. I read somewhere that we often mistake hunger for thirst. Do you think it's true?

Could be true. I think we also mistake hunger for emotional want or need.

>>Do you think you drink enough water (or other liquids) each day?

Yes ~ I love water.

>>The next time you think you are hungry will you try drinking instead?

Lol ~ no. ....Well, what do you mean by "drinking?" lol

2. "You should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince

and dinner like a pauper." All weekend I ate bigger breakfasts than I normally do during the week and now I'm hungry.

>>Do you ever eat a big breakfast during the week?

I eat cereal usually, or a banana.

>>You do think the above quote has merit?

Partially. My big meal is lunch but I do prefer a very small supper

>>Are you more or less hungry during the day when you eat a big breakfast?

If I eat a big breakfast I feel sick for most of the day. I can't stand to be too full.

Rayeellen - we've discussed this elsewhere and you know that depriving your body of food it wrong. grrrrrrrrrrrrr I think I'm going to go look up some more info on crash diets and daily nutritional requirements and sent them to you. :P

And for anyone else reading this - I don't have any issues with rayeellen wanting or feeling she needs to lose weight but having one single thing to eat all day is bad for your body. Especially when all the it is is a turkey bacon wrap. I've yelled at rayeellen elsewhere for crash dieting. I thought I might as well do it here too. I would fully support her if she were doing it in a healthy way (and yes, we are friends IRL so I'm allowed to yell at her - it's my duty). ;-)

I keep trying to get into the small supper thing but doesn't quite work for me. I used to have horrible nutritional habits as a child - I'd skip breakfast and barely eat lunch and then have a big dinner. I'm going better but...still need some work (hey - at least I rarely skip breakfast now and when I do it's usually because I'm eating brunch, lol).

giggle - you can take "drinking" to mean whatever you like...
