Whew! Busy weekend and it's my first day back to work. Ugh. But I feel rested so it's ok.

1. I read somewhere that we often mistake hunger for thirst. Do you think it's true? Do you think you drink enough water (or other liquids) each day? The next time you think you are hungry will you try drinking instead?

2. "You should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince

and dinner like a pauper." All weekend I ate bigger breakfasts than I normally do during the week and now I'm hungry. Do you ever eat a big breakfast during the week? You do think the above quote has merit? Are you more or less hungry during the day when you eat a big breakfast?

Oy...I'm hungry, lol.

Yes I know that mode. It doesn't mean that your body isn't hungry and doens't need the nutrition and energy it gets from food - it just means that you've ignored it to the point that you don't notice.

You know better than that. :P

You are doing all kinds of wonky things to your metabolism.

And you will generally lose muscle mass but regain fat when you gain in back (unless you start weight training or something...).

You know better.

Your daughter has to eat regularly because of her diabetes so you KNOW that our bodies need food - whether we think it does or not.

I had pasta for lunch and am contemplating going to the local watering hole for something to eat.

Seriously, it is not my intent to starve myself. Crash dieting *is* dangerous. If I'm hungry, I'll eat. Sometimes my body slips into a mode where it's not hungry all that much.

You are trying to get even with me for growling at you today, rofl. Uh uh. We need a nice try icon.

I keep trying to get into the small supper thing but doesn't quite work for me. I used to have horrible nutritional habits as a child - I'd skip breakfast and barely eat lunch and then have a big dinner. I'm going better but...still need some work (hey - at least I rarely skip breakfast now and when I do it's usually because I'm eating brunch, lol).

giggle - you can take "drinking" to mean whatever you like...

Rayeellen - we've discussed this elsewhere and you know that depriving your body of food it wrong. grrrrrrrrrrrrr I think I'm going to go look up some more info on crash diets and daily nutritional requirements and sent them to you. :P

And for anyone else reading this - I don't have any issues with rayeellen wanting or feeling she needs to lose weight but having one single thing to eat all day is bad for your body. Especially when all the it is is a turkey bacon wrap. I've yelled at rayeellen elsewhere for crash dieting. I thought I might as well do it here too. I would fully support her if she were doing it in a healthy way (and yes, we are friends IRL so I'm allowed to yell at her - it's my duty). ;-)

1. I read somewhere that we often mistake hunger for thirst. Do you think it's true?

Could be true. I think we also mistake hunger for emotional want or need.

>>Do you think you drink enough water (or other liquids) each day?

Yes ~ I love water.

>>The next time you think you are hungry will you try drinking instead?

Lol ~ no. ....Well, what do you mean by "drinking?" lol

2. "You should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince

and dinner like a pauper." All weekend I ate bigger breakfasts than I normally do during the week and now I'm hungry.

>>Do you ever eat a big breakfast during the week?

I eat cereal usually, or a banana.

>>You do think the above quote has merit?

Partially. My big meal is lunch but I do prefer a very small supper

>>Are you more or less hungry during the day when you eat a big breakfast?

If I eat a big breakfast I feel sick for most of the day. I can't stand to be too full.

I drink a fair amount and think I can tell the difference.

Once in a while, I need to diet though. Today I ate one sandwich midday, and that's it.

I get sleepy when I eat a lot at any time.

lol. Did you know that you cannot get Diet Dr. Pepper in Canada? There is something in it that doesn't meet our regulations. I find it hard to drink just plain water. I often add a tiny amount of ice tea crystals or a slice of lemon to it to make it bearable.

Three balanced meals a day would be good. Most days breakfast is a thing of yogurt. lol

lol - I hope you are close to a bathroom. The thought of all that liquid makes me want to go pee! lol

I've never been a cereal person, ever. Just can't get into it for some reason. Used to eat the toaster breakfasts when I had roommates. But my freezer now officially sucks so no more.

lol. Drinking more water is always good (just make sure you are close to a bathroom...lol).

I'm LESS hungry if I eat a big breakfast...then again most of the time when I eat a big breakfast it's more of a brunch. Maybe that's why...
