White or Wheat Bread?

I am funny on this. For a sandwich, nothing but white. The fresher the better. Ahhh, tuna on soft fresh white bread. However, for toast or dinner bread, I like wheat, rye, or any other dark bread. Let's hear from you.

White for me too ... but sometimes I break down and buy Hillbilly Bread... do ya'll have Hillbilly Bread where you live???

PS: I know white bread is not good for you... but it tastes so darn good!

My DH is "funny" on this, too! He insists on white; but, he won't argue with whole grain. I try to make sandwiches as interesting as possible for him, so that he will eat something other than white bread (which I don't eat). He makes great sourdough, so the kids really like that. It's even great for pizza crust, focaccia, etc. We also make herbed sourdough and add cheese to the dough.

I personally don't eat a lot of bread. But, when I do, I prefer homemade. With a bread machine, that's an easy task.

There's a place out here called La Madeleine and they make the most incredible croissants and country breads! Now, that's one place where I'll go nuts over bread, LOL!

I haven't had white bread in a long time - - we only get whole wheat bread...it's good for you but not that tasty. We Do get an Italian loaf for making garlic bread, but that's about as white as it gets around here.

Well - we are trying to go the health route so I buy any of the whole grain breads from Alverdo - they have great breads like sprouted whole wheat - soy - california style- they even have awhole wheat cinamon raisin that makes great toast!

I only eat wheat. Used to only like white but had to switch and now only like wheat.
