Does ANYONE have a recipe for a GOOD tomato jelly? My grandma use to make tomato jelly and you would NEVER known it was from tomatoes, lol. She is passed away now and I have an over abundance of tomatoes this year and would like to find this recipe.

Thanks

TOnya

Hi there and welcome to the board! I had never heard of tomato jelly before but when i went searching, there are quite a few recipes. I'll post a couple below in the RECIPE COLLECTION area. Sure hope that helps some. We'd love for you to keep coming back so we can get to know you better!

Do you mean a Tomato Aspic or a Jelly? My mother makes a Tomato Aspic and servers it with chicken, shrimp or crab salad. It's fairly good.

Mix in a saucepan

1envelope gelatin

½ teaspoon sugar

3/4 cup tomato juice

Stir over medium heat until gelatin dissolves. Add

1 cup tomato juice

Season to taste with

Lemon juice or vinegar

Salt and pepper

Few drops Worcestershire

Pour into a 1-pint ring or mold. Chill until firm.

Fill center with lettuce, mayo, chicken salad, shrimp or crab salad, almost any thing can go with this. If you watch the mayo and dressing it makes a good low-celery dish.
