Ray, sometimes I think I'm ready but then I find I'm not! I would like snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas day and then it could go back up in the mountains where it belongs!
I really look forward to seeing family, just hanging out, tasting special foods, the smell of pine in the house. . . but the shopping thing, the glittery giddiness of it all, I hate.
Ready? Almost. Wishing for good weather with just a smidge of snow maybe on Christmas Eve or Cristmas Day. Rose, isn't the Christmas music just the ticket to bring the season in? Usually I am just like you listening, and watching lights twinkling in the dark. This year I sold and/or gave away most of what we had collected over the years, and decided to begin anew for 2012. Our big gift this year is a major move which is taking place on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
I think my wish for snow on Christmas is going to come true. It's suppose to start snowing Christmas Eve and snow through Christmas day--we'll see! You're moving over Christmas? Moving close by or far away? We have weeded out a lot of stuff we have collected over the years--it feels good. A good way to start the new year!

Some of my favorites----I love Christmas trees, Christmas lights and Christmas music (which seems to drive my family crazy).

Come on Rose, you know as well as I do that what you propose is 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'.

I am behind this year but the tree is hung and the gifts all wrapped so now I am just waiting for ol' saint Nick
and to spend some time with family and a few good friends.
I think we may not have a white Christmas here ...we have had no snow yet, do you believe that? I mean we are
talking about Buffalo--home of blizzards.
oops, forgot to add my favorite things...
the music
decorating the tree
wrapping the gifts
watching them open their gifts
christmas breakfast
christmas eve mass
sitting quietly on christmas eve, late at night--watching the flickering lights & enjoying all the decorations & memories
