I don't know if I buy that tangerine looks good on everyone.

I'm with you --- orange isn't an easy color to wear (although I love it, I don't own much, if any, orange clothing). But accents around the house really does appeal to me --- not just candels, but maybe a throw pillow or lap robe here and there...
We had anorange kitchen once --- orange cabinet doors in three shades! It was a change from the purple and sage green the previous owners had. But subsequent paint jobs dropped two of the oranges in favor of the darkest, and finally, when the house went up for rent, the manager had the doors painted white (about the same time he replaced our maple butcher block countertops with laminate! AAACK!)! Oh well, the orange was a 70's choice!

It is inded. A little strong for as much as a focal wall, but if in smaller items like ceramics, art work, pattern sin rugs and pillows --- it would relaly pep up a neutral room and give it a tropical air, IMO!
