Great news and nice to see you here. It's fun and sometimes a challenge to figure out how to get rid of the odds and ends.
First step this week then : make your inventory, and check the expiration dates (don't want any poisonings due to our challenge!) LOL

Okay, I went through my cupboards and fridge and found these things that had been lost and forgotten and need to be used:

1 package of pork coating
2 small cans of tomato juice
a half a box of penne pasta
2 individual sized cereals
a box of lemon jello
half a jar of applesauce
some string cheese
various amounts of several salad dressings
and

several small containers of various fruit yogurt.

Most of it I have plans for - I'll make an Italian thing next week and use the pasta and tomato juice; I can use one of the dressings in a chicken thing that's pretty good; I'll have pork chops and coat them; I'll eat the small cereals instead of a serving of my regular cereal and I'll snack on the cheese and yogurts.

But what do I do with all this applesauce, the other

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to do the challenge this month. My cupboards are frightening. I usually duck and cover as I open each one because things tend to fly out!

I will have to take inventory and see just what I'm working with. I know that we have a lot of meat in the freezer. I actually haven't purchased any in a month (with the exception of our Christmas ham) and told DH that we're not buying any until we use up what we have.

We get a weekly fresh produce delivery, so my goal is to only purchase dairy products at the grocery store this month!

Thanks for the poke on this challenge Suzan. I read the email this morning while getting dressed for work. Came right down and took some meat out of the freezer and checked to see that we had stuff to go with it. Since we ended up going out for DS1's bday, we'll have it for dinner tomorrow. I will also find my small containers of frozen lunches and start taking those to work.

Hi Ruth,
Welcome to the challenge!
We'll have clean cabinets by the end of it for sure.
I haven't done my inventory yet either, but I did take a peek and will be glad to clear it all out by the end of the month. LOL

We'll have to figure out those problem items . Your inventory is not bad and osunds like you have a plan already for most of the items. How about the freezer?

That's a good plan Kellie. Good idea not to buy more meat until you finish most of what you have.... who knows what reallly lurks in the depths of a deep freezer and if any of it has "freezer burn". .
Welcome aboard! Good Luck on your challenge!

Hi Teri,
Glad you could join us!
It's a fun challenge and it really works. Last year my cupboards and freezer were bare after the month, but that felt good.
Great idea about freezing some lunches and a good idea to use them up this week. Do you make those meals yourself and freeze them?
AGain , welcome to the board and good luck and have fun with your challenge ;O)
