We wondered why Dominic, the brown cat, was so intent on looking out the window from his high perch on his scratching tree.
Well, he was over-reaching his predator capabilities if he thought he had found the perfect bird to stalk (assuming he was ever allowed outside and assuming his wimpiness could handle being outside) --- he had spied a Cooper's Hawk, sitting on our sidewalk, plucking his (her) latest kill. We think it was a Junco, what they call a "snowbird" around here.
Anyway, DH started snapping pictures like mad --- that hawk sat there for several long minutes before finishing his (her) meal and leaving. DH is supposed to send me some of his best photos and I'll post them
Guess our bird feeder has become the hawk's "salad bar"... Kind of sad but it is the way of nature.

To those of us who love nature it is sad.....but like everything else it is just how life is.
Here are the four best photos (warning, a couple show a little more graphic details than some might want to see,,,)
