Tuesday Talk: Did you get special treatment...

For having a c-section? Do you think the hospital staff, family, and friends were more sympathetic to your recovery process since you had a c-section? Were they more willing to jump in and help you out, and did you feel like you needed that?

Thanks
They were a nice hospital staff, but I don't think I was treated 'special'.
But, I did feel as cared for in my c-section as I did with the vaginal deliveries. I know they gave special care to watch my PP bleeding due to my hemorrhage issues from previous deliveries.
Family, particularly my dh, did seem more helpful after this delivery than my others. People were much more willing to help out if I asked, which was good. But, I did much better than I expected afterwards, so I did feel up doing a lot myself.
Manda :)
I think you are right that especially going the midwife route, they should have taken in to consideration your mental well being after a c-section as well. They did know how much a natural delivery meant to you because THAT is the kind of patients they receive.
Even my doctor spends time in the PP check-up reviewing my mental well being, but mainly from a PPD viewpoint.
I'm sorry that they downplayed your emotions, and you had to struggle through all of that alone!!
Hi ladies, just found your board so I thought I would stop by. I don't think I got "special" treatment for having a csection, I think I had more special treatment because I had severe preeclampsia and I was pretty out of it for quite a while after delivery. Everyone was great at my hospital though and took excellent care of me and my baby girl :)
Welcome and thanks for joining in the conversation!!
