I am new to the board and just here to vent. I relocated to a new state due to financial struggles and several events that left me nearly homeless. I've been here a month and searching frantically for work.
Yesterday, I went to a group interview for a call center job and the presenter said they do a credit check as part of choosing the "right" candidate.....because he wants to see how responsible you are in your personal life. This will be an indication of how responsible you will be at work. Really?? What about certain cases where your finances went sour due to being laid off? How is that indicative of your dedication to a job....your willingness to give it your all? I was astounded!!
Then I asked myself....do I want to work for this company? I'm 48 yrs old and have had several jobs....in every single one I have been a top employee and I haven't always had good credit. Any thoughts on this practice?
