Lori, goodness to the heat issues. Hopefully he can get it connected again today. And hope the drs office comes through for you, too.

It just started snowing here just before 6am. When we woke up only three schools were cancelled but now the big city schools where DH works are closed. Seriously? There's barely any snow there! Maybe I haven't lived in a rural area in a long time to have a good enough feel on this anymore. At this rate we might be closed today, too. (Yay if we are!)

Lori, about how much snow does it take to close your schools?

Oh, man! I just thought, tonight is the Boy Scout's Blue and Gold Banquet. I wonder if school is cancelled or let out early if we will have the banquet, too. That will be a bummer.

Everything went great at my mom's. T is spoiled and we all had a great time.

My plan today, since I have no word on T's school yet, is to clean up my kitchen and start all over again. Another cake to take to ILs this weekend. Only my mom and I ate some of the one I took to her house. Why do people do that? I can't not have a cake for a 7 year old! People need to eat the cake! And I made a small one on purpose. Unfortunately, we'll probably bring back just as much from ILs and most of both of them will go in the trash. Or I might slice them up and freeze in smaller portions. Hmm, how much cake do I really want?

I agree Wendi, they need to eat cake. Doesnt have to be much, but at least a little. Glad you had a good time! We're supposed to get that snow tonight into tomorrow. It really depends on how much snow it takes. We have a HUGE school district that covers parts of 3 counties, and its really really rural, so we have lots of back roads that rarely see a plow. So just a few inches could close us, or even less if its icy underneath. They just cant get to the back roads enough. We've only used one of our snow days so far. Really dont want one this week since we have next Monday off... and I dont get paid for it. :( I get paid for MLK day, but not presidents day...go figure.

I would love to go in today and have the kindergarten teacher say she doesnt need me since its a short week. I know that wont happen, but I can dream, lol.

And I taught both older girls to use the new washer last night so they can start helping again. They're going to have to do some this week if they want things clean to take along. I have most of it done, but Alexis didnt want to give up her pajama pants last night for me to wash, so she'll have to do them this week.

Laura, the party sounds great! Sorry about the meltdown after. I hope they're both well-rested today. How did the kids do skating? Did they have to use the skate-helpers, or did adults help them all?

Lori, your week sounds so busy! I hope you have an awesome time at the water park! And get some heat - how bizarre! Especially if it's so cold there!

Our heater is working full-blast, trying to get up to temp. It was 23-ish last night. But it's supposed to be 61 today, so I'll be warm later. (I'm wrapped in a blanket right now.)

Lori, I did watch the movie again and got it back before 9:00. I wasn't quite so disturbed the second time, but I was also distracted (family being loud in the other room, folding laundry, etc.).

I'm feeling mostly better. Drainage, like Lori said (which leads to sore throat). Hopefully I can get my energy back and start working out again!

I figured out last night what my fascination is with Twilight. And while you all probably don't really care, I know you think I'm kind of weird for being into it, so I'll tell you anyway. :)

It's not about vampires, for me. It's just the most intense love story I've ever heard. They overcome the most absolute deterrents (him being a vampire, wanting to drink her blood) because they love each other so much and are so much stronger/better together. Now, while I get that their love isn't practical in the real world (you can't be together all the time when you need a job and have kids, etc.), it's just such an intense love. And, while I can imagine it, I've never felt a love like it in my own life.

You know how when people lose a spouse (sometimes), they'll say they can't imagine going on. Or older people might die (literally) after the other does - because they just love that intensely. I've never really been like that. I protect myself from being hurt. With everyone - friends, DH, everything. I know it's a product of my parents getting divorced, fear of losing people, fear of rejection.

Holy cow! That web site looks evil! I cannot check it out. ;)

Lori-Sorry about the heat issue. That's strange. Do you have forced air? Better make sure they check the ducts before putting up the drywall!!! Glad you are feeling better, but sorry the sleep still isn't coming for you.

Wendi-I hate it when people pass on cake too. Seriously-one little piece won't kill you, and you don't even have to eat it all, just make the kid happy. My friend in JC just e-mailed that their school is cancelled so her kids are home. She is in a really rural area too.

Hilarie-Interesting theory on why you like Twilight. I've heard it's more about the romance than the vampire thing, but since I've never ready/watched any of it I didn't understand.

Lacey wanted to be called Tinkerbell this morning so Calla made "wings" for her. They are little pieces of paper tied to each arm. It's pretty cute, but very silly looking too. I love it when she does nice things for her sister.

Well-I'd better go get myself going this morning.

Laura, we are the line for the school closings. Everyone west and south of us is closed. We should be but the snow was just an hour late. I'm expecting early dismissal today. Oh, Tinkerbell wings sound so cute! It's those moments that makes you forget all the other times.

Wow, Hilarie, to the Twilight info. I've never heard anything about the story at all. That's very fascinating and actually makes me want to read them.

Lori, that's what I thought to you all closing school. It is rural around here. The district we live in has no cities at all, so it sounds like your area but smaller. Yay to the girls learning how to use the washer and dryer! I'm still trying to teach my brother!

Wendi, LOL at still trying to teach your brother. Shouldn't your mom have taught him that? :)

Laura, that's so sweet about your little Tinkerbell! I love when kids get along like that!

Allison was a mess all day yesterday - she cried over everything! Of course, Megan wasn't playing nice, so she had some reason. But then she'd cry just the same "because Megan took the eraser" (or something like that). The same cry as "Megan kicked me in the face". That's when I knew she was really tired. (And, yes, Megan has taken up kicking. And scratching. And hair pulling. Only with her sister, at least. But, still - I could do without it.)

I really need to focus on work. I forgot something that was due Friday (but I was sick, so I have some excuse). And I didn't even open an email that was due Thursday (no chance of me getting that done in time anyway, but I could have emailed to let them know). I told everyone this morning that I'd get it done asap (and that I was sick, so they wouldn't be mad). Still a little fuzzy in the head and unfocused, though. I hope it clears up soon!

Hilarie, my brother was spoiled. Um, IS spoiled! Mom still does his laundry. And when he tries to do it, he calls me to walk him through it.

Woo hoo! Just got a text that the public school is closing at 12:30. Some on the news are closing at 11:30. I'm expecting to hear from our school any minute!
