First, they’re chockfull of fiber (an essential for healthy digestion) — and they are loaded with potassium (a nutrient that helps us maintain fluid balance). Not to mention, bananas have antioxidants, which have disease-fighting compounds.
But here’s something you may not have known about the yummy, yellow fruit. Bananas are sources of dopamine and serotonin, two important brain compounds. According to Kilham, who researches natural remedies around the world, “dopamine is the primary ‘reward’ chemical in our body,” and “serotonin is our so-called ‘feel-good’ neurotransmitter …
