How to stick with it?

Hi, all! I've tried WW about four times--each time I lose a few pounds, get lazy about tracking meals, quit altogether, and gain twice as much weight back. The thing is, I absolutely DETEST having to track my meals. Am I doomed to be overweight forever, or should I give it another try?
Hi Gloam, one of the main reasons most people give up is because their routines and goals are set at a very difficult level and they are unsustainable. If you know you aren't going to stick with tracking because you hate it, try something else. Start with elimination rather than tracking. In order to lose weight and keep it off you have to change the way you live and think and that isn't going to happen in just a few weeks (or even months). Pick 2 bad habits and eliminate them from your diet/life. (Example: stop drinking sodas and eating snack crackers). Consciously work at it for several weeks until you have confidently made the change. Then pick two more. At some point, add in some simple exercise (like walking). Make sure that the changes you are making fit your personality and your lifestyle so they don't become a burden. You are much more likely to stick with something that you are able to sustain.
I know you don't like tracking meals but consider getting yourself a big calendar and giving yourself an award of some kind (like a big star or special symbol) for those days you exercise or eat something healthier than you ordinarily would have eaten. As the days pile up, you will see that it is more much motivating to see a small reward staring at you than a menu or calorie tracker.
Good luck!
