A New Mexico woman is heading to trial for alledgly stealing a small pumpkin worth $2. According to AP News, her sister says she bought groceries earlier in the day but forgot to pay for the pumkin. She offered to pay but was arrested instead. Rather than plead guilty, she is going to court.

Should charges be dropped against her? Would you plead guilty or go to trial?

I'm not usually a confrontational type but, sheesh, they could have taken the $2! I'd threaten trial!

Hard to say what I'd do because I think it's ridiculous to arrest her in the first place! If she offered to pay, there never should have been any charges! I would probably plead guilty to be done with the whole thing, but I also understand wanting a trial to determine that the police did the wrong thing.
