What are you doing when you're not looking for a date?

It seems like we're always talking about looking for dates, lack of dates, etc. but I'm sure that everyone does other interesting things w/ their lives besides work.

When I am not exercising, I have more time to sew or do one of the other many hobbies I've picked up and dropped over the years.
Honestly, except for my Thursday karaoke, my days consist of work and exercise...which is more work! I do like shopping on the weekends, but I'm trying to hold off on that at the moment.
Work - maybe 55-65 non-consecutive hours per week.
Other than that, I love reading and am a real bookworm! Meeting friends is of course up there, but most of my friends do unfortunately not have much time to meet me anymore. Watching TV and movies as well as being online is on the list as well.
Unfortunately having a 4 year olf with me full time doesn't let me much time for anything. I spend my evenings and weekends with him.
I went to a salsa club a couple of weekends ago--after taking lessons for about 4 monhs.
It's annoying when people don't invite. Some people, especially those who take lessons, only invite those they know (it has nothing to do with looks or the way you dance). Some nights are like that and then you could go to another and suddenly, you get to meet someone with whom you click in terms of dancing and the evening is worth it.
It's funny, last Friday I went to such a practice night (it wasn't in a club, but in a dance school) and one young guy came to me to say that he liked the way I danced with someone. That someone was a really good dancer, so it looked like I was too (and I'm not that good). He said that he just started taking classes.
I'm into photography, I'm a foodie but love to cook the food as much as I enjoy eating it, I make jewelry, am quasi involved in the local art scene; hitting up exhibits and taking in live music, indie/foreign films/festivals. I'm pretty out-doorsy; love camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, and I'll cop to it, yes, also bird-watching. I enjoy local history/architecture so am a bit of a road warrior, too.
I'm fairly independent and cherish alone time so many of these I'll do whether a friend is tagging along or not.
that is interesting that you like camping, outdoors and also the arts but I am also like that.. I love music and I check out bands and have been dancing a very long time.. I also love history and find myself wandering into places and checking out local history.
correction though.. I dont like fishing or camping but I do love being outside walking and hiking on a trail..
I'm glad someone else enjoys birdwatching :P
