Most nights we don't do dinner, just whatever's available. If we decide to do a meal then we take something out of the freezer and when it's thawed we cook it.
All of the above! LOL. I like planning for the week, but it seems something always comes up (usually DH decides we need to do something, which puts my plan off track) & at the end of the week I've only done one or two of the planned ,eals. That frustrates me. I try to have a few days of meals planned in my head. Wednesday we eat dinner at church, so that is easy. I make sure I have something easy planned or made on the nights I work. If I am off, I can wing it with a last minute trip to the grocery store if I have to!!
Same here...I do like to have at least 3 or 4 nights planned so when I do my shopping I can get things I need. Now that dd has moved out and dh works nights it just ds and I. Ds has 2 late nights ate school so he's only home for dinner 3 nights a week. I like to plan things he likes for those nights...
It depends. We are so inconsistent now. Some mornings we'll have a big breakfast and others I eat & DH doesn't. Same with lunch & dinner. Many times DH will only eat one meal but he has coffee or soda during the day. I'm nore of a nibbler and graze all day.
Yes it's hard to plan or want to plan meals when it's just two. Now with just ds and I I do try and plan at least a couple of meals so we aren't eating frozen pizza or junk for dinner lol. It's a good thing he likes to cook, some nights he'll cook a new dish for us to try!
Great that your weather is clearing up a bit and nice to bbq when you can. We're having a warm week (60's) this week! Hope Suzi see's some of that sun on her vacation!
I've never been a menu planner, but I have got to start doing it. We're attempting to remove corn in all of it's varieties from DH's diet due to allergy. It's in so much you wouldn't even think of (the vitamins that are added to milk contain corn derivatives!) that it's changing out diet and meals a lot. I need to do a lot more advanced planning.
Well it depends * great question* OK I sometimes make a bunch of things in one day and store them in the extra refrigerator I have.. When I am normal without worrying about something I will cook or bake * baking and cooking is a great stress reliever for me..* it makes me happy Well back to your question.. I have made 2 dishes today or meals one was a tortilla cheese lasagna dish which is stored , and I made chicken drums baked small potatoes in a oven dish, and a dish of squash in a oven dish, and a pan of cauliflower, peas, carrots and corn that I cooked on the stove and then I put those in a oven dish to warm up just before we sat down to supper... All went into the oven at different times.. The food came out and all had a nice chat as we ate the oven food..
I seldom stand looking into the freezer I usually know what I will fix.. For lunch today I made some corned beef rueben sandwich for dh and dd, and one that was fixed without the thousand island, swiss, and kraut for son to take to school tomorrow.. I sure love to mix it up. I usual stock up on bargains so I never know what I will buy or cook for the day. When or if I shop that morning.. * I am a person who could cook 7 meals in one day to use for other days.

Not a lot of menu planning goes on around here these days with it just being dh and me.
