Doing well the nigh time BM are no longer an issue(thank you). Now we are down to learning to wipe our hiney on our own. This isn't going well. DD is almost 5 and doesn't want to do it. No problem with the front but no way will touch the back. Any tips or advice?
Maybe flushable moist wipes for just her bum? They even make a kid friendly brand called Kan-do (or maybe its can-do). I've seen it at Wal-mart in the health and beauty section (ie, soap, shampoo, hair care area) and in the cosmetics section too, with all the bubble bath stuff. Its green with a frog on the package somewhere.
I've got a bit of the opposite problem, my DS likes to use toilet paper but he can't get it to separate, so if you leave him, he will put half the roll in the bowl trying to get it separated.
try getting a small box, like a kleenex box,cut a slot wide enough for the paper to be pulled out, then cut the paper into stips as long as you figure he would need and layer them in this box, then tell him that this box is his only.
I found that many do not like wiping the back as thier hand gets caught with the seat,or they feel like thy are going to land headfirst while being bent over to reach behind.
DS who is 3 1/2 is wiping himself no problem. DD (5) tries a little but wants no part of it. I was thinking if I could fine Princess flushables maybe she would be inclined to try. We will try standing up.

Hello Kristy,I would give him another 6 months before trying again.
He might even fool you.
best wishes to you both.

Any insentive would might help, have you tried M&M's yet?
I find a lot of girls just hate the thought of the yuckies of wiping,so takes a bit more work.
Good luck.
