My 10 week old, who was an active nurser, has recently started falling asleep during almost every nursing session, whether it be early morning, mid afternoon, or night.

Do you feel like she's not taking in enough? Have you noticed her diaper output getting to be less?

I am not sure about how much she is taking in. She does actively suckle for about 5 - 7 minutes on each breast, but that is during a 30 - 40 minute session. The rest of the time, she is falling asleep, I will wake her, she will suckle for a minute or less, then stop and drift off again.

I have not noticed a difference in her diaper output.

She might just be getting more efficient. Some babies get very efficient within a few months and can take all they need in 5 minutes. If her diaper output hasn't changed, she's not acting hungry, and overall she's getting enough sessions in a day, even if they're short, I wouldn't be too concerned.

She should be having at least 5-6 sopping wets per 24 hours and her usual poopy count. If you aren't sure of the diapers check in with the ped for a weight check. Don't forget to consider any illness too and if you aren't sure check in
