Back-up Plan?

Hi Guys,

My ex and I lost our virginity to each other last July. Since then we have broken up and we have both dated other people. But every time he finds out my relationships end,he texts me to see how I am. I have told him that I want nothing to do with him,but he keeps coming around. I even sent him a mean message on facebook talking about how disgusting I think he is and how he used me the last time we were together--we talked about getting back together then. I went on vacation to get him out of my head and when I returned,there was a text on my phone from him. Well,I broke down and texted him--stupid I know. We texted and then he called me. He told me he missed me and he has never found anyone as good as me-sexually. We texted for 15 hours straight and he was going to call me when he got back in town,to hang out. Well,I found out by accident that he was back so I texted him a pic of my new car with a caption "we are waiting." All he replied with was ha-ha,and he only texted me in one word responses. I finally stopped because he was acting like I was bothering him. Why did he act like that after texting me 15 straight hours the day before? Also, I have been told he has a gf,but I haven't been able to get a direct answer from him about it. I asked him if I wanted to get back with him would he reject me and he said "yes,for now." He says he just wants to be friends and take things slow. I am so confused. What is he telling me? Should I hold out hope that we will get back together?
