Most mornings I eat an apple with peanut butter, but this morning I opted for milk and cereal. Also usually have some green tea, but had some coffee with creamer and sugar..........yum! Usually stay away from the coffee but felt like splurging a bit this weekend.............back to tea tomorrow morning.
Ann, do you use fresh ginger to make your ginger tea? Or do you buy tea already flavored with ginger or what? I've never bought and used fresh ginger before. The pieces are so big that I feel like I would be wasting too much of it, like it would go bad before I could use it up. I guess I don't know what else I would use it for either. I also don't know how much to use of it. So, how do you do your ginger tea??
I use a tea called Ginger Aid. It's made by Traditional Medicinals and I find it in the natural foods or organic section of my grocery store.
But you can use fresh ginger. Here's a recipe:
4 cups of water
2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
optional: honey and lemon slice
Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Once it is boiling, add the ginger. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon to taste.
As for the pieces being too big, the store I shop at has all sizes of ginger pieces because I think everyone does what I do - if there are no small pieces of ginger, I break a piece the size I need off a bigger

No bacon or sausage..darn it!! LOL
I had a cup of Cheerios with skim milk and raisins and a cup of coffee with Stevia and skim milk.
My normal everyday breakfast is: two cups of coffee with a splash of half & half (no sugar), four slices (made into 2 sandwiches)

Kindness is more important than wisdom,
Guess I should have added that my breakfasts at home vary from any of these choices plus a cup of coffee with Stevia and skim milk......
Toasted whole wheat bread and low sugar peanutbutter
Whole wheat english muffin with veggie sausage, lite cheese, occasionally I'll add a scrambled egg
Two eggs & whole wheat toast
Two eggs, whole wheat toast, veggie sausage, O'Brian potatoes
Oatmeal with cinnamon, sugar free pancake syrup and raisins
Cheerios, raisins or banana or berries, skim milk
All Bran, raisins or banana or berries, skim milk
Whole wheat french toast with sugar free pancake syrup, fresh fruit
Or..we'll go out to eat.
It varies.
