Teen son with eating disorder

My 14-year-old son may have anorexia. He's scheduled for a psych consult in early May, but for now we are at a loss of what to do. His primary doctor has been next to useless with this, just telling him to eat more (yeah, like WE haven't tried that!). He's lost 35 pounds in six months. At 5'7, he's only 96 pounds, and eats very little. He also seems depressed. Early this morning, my ex-husband found him lying on the floor in the kitchen crying. He no longer takes pleasure in any activities and is exhausted all the time.
What can we do to help him? Is there anything at all we can be doing? I'm absolutely terrified. Being at my job (which sucks on a good day) has become incredibly difficult, especially on days like this when my son is at home alone (he felt too depressed to go to school today). I want to be there for him but don't know what to do other than telling him I'm here for him and that I love him. Please help!
