The only 'normal' thing about peri is anything goes. We are all so different. They often tell you to check with your mom for an idea of what you will be reacting but I didn't do anything like my mom did... so though it might give you a hint, there is guarantee.
They tend to not want you to go more than 6 months without a period.. How long have you felt like you were going to start? You may start, or it may just go away. Phantom periods, when you have the symptoms but not bleeding can be longer and more severe since you don't have the start to 'end' it...

As Cheryl said .... the only thing anyone can tell you for sure about peri-menopause is that it happens.
