Do you have a bat house?

I was reading this article for pet owners about prepping your garden for pets (which wasn't all that helpful) but it did get me thinking about bat houses. We were pretty pest-free for most of the gardening season last year, but then got attacked towards the end of the season. Since the weather has been so warm, we're expected to have many more bugs this season. I'm thinking a bat house might be an interesting experiment, for the kids at the very least.

No bat house here. I don't think I've ever seen a bat in my neighborhood. I know we have them in our mountains (about 50 miles east) but dh would know if we have them locally. If they eat grasshoppers and tomato hornworms then I'd welcome bats into my neighborhood!

We see bats as the sun starts setting, usually up higher in the sky snatching bugs out of the air.
Bats in my belfry, YES.
Well, ours is a pretty little blue-and-white ceramic purpose-made "pot" which lies on it's side, partly buried in the earth.
Got the idea from the NWF http://frogsaregreen.com/tag/toad-shelter/

My toads left when I got a dog, and he came in a few times frothing like a rabid thing.
