Why did he say I was a *dork*?

I hope I can communicate what I am trying to say…
I have been seeing a friend (FWB only) for about a year or so; I’ve know this guy for a few years – it’s just been recently that he has been asking me over to his place every Saturday.
Yup..I know how that sounds and it’s painful to re-read what I just typed! lol
But I don’t want anything else right now; I am more of an independent kinda gal, so I guess it works out OK for both of us.
Anyhow, he knew I had spring break coming up and asked if I had any plans. I said no, I had not really thought about it…He replied: “lol, dork”
On the surface, this doesn’t seem to be a big deal but he always calls me a dork and says that I am hiding (because I don’t do much other than work, eat, sleep)
Perhaps he uses the word dork because he has a very limited vocabulary. I think when a lover puts us down (and that is what he's doing) it's a power play. Especially when you have told him you don't want to be called a dork (who would?) How you spend your time is your business.
I don't know why you'd want to be intimate with a man who intentionally puts you down anyway.
I think you wouldn't care so much what he called you if it didn't hit a nerve somewhere (like now you are thinking--am I really a dork?)
