Thanks for asking, Alice. Not feeling too great this morning due to nausea and headache. Tried to eat half an English muffin with some peanut butter. Hoping that will help. I think it is a reaction from Tylenol 3, but I get pain from my side through my shoulder if I don't take it.

Surgery went well, hospital was really good to deal with and the nausea went away after about 6 hours and some nausea medication. I stayed in until 10 Am on Saturday, then DH took me home. DD was home for the weekend so I wanted to see her.

No one home today, so maybe going to mom's later this week as she is dying to take care of me and I am still weak.

I just hate the headache and nausea, so I might call and see if there is a different pain medication I can get.

Oh, I put on about 4 pounds in the hospital, all water since I did not eat for two days. Dissapointing for not eating anything ;(

Thanks again for asking about me, you guys are so great.

Nausea is no fun! My dad is still having digestive issues since his surgery.

Just an update on my surgery since I can share weird stuff with you guys.
I was getting really nauseous on the Tylenol 3, so I switched to ibuprofen, and boy am I a lot better. Dh said I was smiley yesterday and my color was back. I am still not moving fast and am no way ready for a run yet!

As I have said here, I have not had a period since before my surgery last year, yet on Monday evening, who shows up? I thought I had blood in my urine and freaked out, since I had not had a BM yet either. But no, the hormones must be so jacked up I had a very light period, but did have the full period pain and exhaustion.
I know we are not supposed to have ibuprofen, but for a period that is the only thing that every helped me, so I switched over and felt a ton better yesterday so I am staying on that for pain now.

I seem to have lost all the water weight now from the surgery, went up to 148.5 and am back to 143 now. I tend to bounce between 140 at the low and 144 for a high since Christmas as I can't seem to loose these last 10-15 pounds. I have a personal alarm weight of 145, I never want to go back over that again in my life, so the 148 after surgery really upset me, but it was all water.

There is still a lot of swelling in my gut, and I cannot lay on my sides at all, but the incisions seem to be healing well. He just did steri strips this time, and not staples.

It is weird how you get shoulder pain with this surgery, to the point I thought my right shoulder was out of socket - but no, it was just the muscle from the area where the gallbladder was.

So I am going to try to go out today, get my nails done for Easter since they look horrid and my grocery shopping as well. Then I have a phone interview for a job later in the afternoon.

Is it a muscle in your shoulder or gas pain from them blowing your belly up to look around???

Yeah for hormones!! I LOL about you thinking you had blood in your urine!

Glad you are doing well.

I was going to say it could very well be gas from them pumping you with air during the surgery. That happened to me and that's exactly what it feels like and nothing takes the pain away. Be very careful with the ibuprofen. My new surgeon is dead against any kind of nsaids at all! They didn't even want me taking this steroid that i'm on right now because of my back. BUT I HAVE to take it I don't have a choice, but I do take zantac an hour before I take it. SO even if you aren't having any issue with the ibuprofen, take something like zantac with it to avoid ulcers!

Good advice, Wendy. The shoulder pain is gone now, just have some soreness and I am going to try to switch to Tylenol now to see if that will help, regular Tylenol, done with that Tylenol 3.

I did overdue it with the shopping yesterday, but I was good after an afternoon nap - and my nails look wonderful, so that helped perk me up.
My dad is picking me up today, it is over an hour drive there and DD needs my car to join me tomorrow over there as hers is going back into the shop for the weekend.

glad that your are doing better. I had some really bad shoulder pain a couple of weeks ago, after I had my scope done. I figured it was gas though, and it did feel better after I took a nap. Everyone kept talking about shoulder pain from gas after WLS but I never had that, so it was weird to have a couple of weeks ago.
