Hello! So, this weekend I ran the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k in Charleston, SC. I was pretty excited going into this race: I'd heard good things about it; the course seemed pretty cool; and I'd never been to Charleston, so it was a great chance to also have a fun weekend away.

It's the largest 10k in the country at almost 37,000 runners and walkers. By far the largest race I'd ever done, so that was pretty cool to start with. We got in Friday evening and went straight to the Expo for our bibs and packets, then hung out in downtown Charleston for a while.

Gotta love an automatic PR - congrats! I cannot fathom such a large race for a 10K. Wowzers!

Amanda, it sounds like so much fun! Glad you had a good time and love that you got a PR. I love bridges and would run this just for that experience. Totally cool.

How annoying about the late start and the lack of water at the finish.

That sounds like so much fun, Amanda! Kind of like the army 10 miler. No point in even thinking about pace, just out for an enjoyable run. Charleston is such a beautiful city, I haven't been there in years. Glad you had fun! Love, mo

Sounds like it was a fun get-a-way! (With a race in there too!). I cannot imagine running with that many people!!! Great job!

Wow! Sounds like a fun race, minus the few snags. Congrats on the automatic PR! (Why do 10Ks seem like a difficult race distance to find??)

Amanda, great report! Wow that is a lot of runners for a 10k. Sounds like a nice event and course though. I can't believe people would hoard water like that:(. Well I guess I can believe it, but it's rude! Glad you enjoyed the experience. Sounds like it made for a fun weekend getaway!
