Well, as usual, I'm late. We didn't do anything specific for Easter. My mom wanted us to visit her, but I begged off. Three trips per week are quite enough for me for now. I actually used the whole weekend to catch up with things around home - cleaning, laundry, working outdoors in the flower beds, etc. It was perhaps a lot of work, but I found it to be very calming. (I even got to go shopping on Saturday - what girl doesn't luuuuv to go shopping?! :smileytongue:

I went to my nephew's house and there really wasn't much of anything that I was supposed to eat there. Consequently I was so sleepy, because my blood sugar was too high, to be able to drive home. Then I got really hungry before it dropped enough for me to eat much of anything. But it was nice to see him and his wife and see what changes they have made to their property. He lives on 2.5 acres and there was basically no landscaping when they moved it. Eventually they will live in a forest of trees and fruit trees. Plus that he has a huge veggie garden! Should be able to feed a small army out of his garden.

Nice you could use that time to catch up if not feeling like celebrating. I hope your mom had someone else to be with though. Shopping? Like for something other than groceries?? I can sort of remember what that was like long long ago..LOL!!

Your nephew's home sounds really nice!! Too bad on the food choices, but glad it worked out okay eventually.

Oh, wow, 2.5 acres! Lucky person! :smileyhappy: We have a quareter of an acre and I wish we had more. My dream has always been to own 100 acres and have 2 billion dollars so that I could take in every stray and homeless animal. That's a dream not likely to come true, but I keep it in my heart nonetheless.

Mom was with friends on Easter. She is now telling everyone, though, that we only see her once a month and that when she calls us, we never answer. I think she's forgetting how to use the phone. I'm always having to explain myself.

Oh, good, glad she had friends to spend Easter with. That's sad how you're always having to explain yourself. I had to do that with my mom, too, and she didn't even have dementia! ::sigh::
